May 2004 - Feeling Crabby Again
The
other day I was meandering around the internet and came across (honestly,
I can't recall where, and I appologize to whomever linked to it)
a quiz
to find out which Food Network
personality you most resemble. Well, never one to refuse a quiz
(seriously; I take them all: Find out what kind of wife you
are. Find out if you are a demanding girlfriend. What Apprentice
star you are most like. What animal are you? I'll stop there),
I immediately took it.
Okay,
go ahead, take the quiz. Then come back and read the rest of this
entry. Go on...did you go? Are you sure? Promise? Okay. So, who
were you? C'mon, tell me!
It
turns out that I am most like Jamie
Oliver of all people. Of course it was from a small group --
only six chefs I think -- and of those six I think I probably am
most like that cute, funny (naked) chef. Here's what it
said:
"You
are JAMIE OLIVER, host of "The Naked Chef"! Youre all
about the simple things, including dressing things down and not
hiding the taste of your food in heavy sauces or spices. You have
a slight cult following among anglophiles and gay men, not seen
since Two Fat Ladies! Very laid back and easy going, you take pride
in not letting things get to you. Cool and Confident. Youre so cool
you make other people sick."
Um.
Yeah...sounds just like me.
Anyway,
thinking about being Jamie Oliver caused me to think about his contract
with TFAL
(I can link just about anything to kitchen ware...try me!),
which reminded me of the recipe cards I received in the mail from
TFAL when I signed up at a department store for more information
at Christmas. Thinking about them made me want to use one of them
to make dinner from and so...well, I did. I had also been wanting
to try out Elise's Crab
Mango and Avacado Salad recipe that I have been drooling over
for a while now and so...I combined the two. I had an almost-bland
crab cake recipe from TFAL and a salad recipe; I had crab, avacado
and mangoes in the fridge...and whipped up these Crab
Avacado and Mango Cakes with Spicy Avacado Sauce.
